WILL YOU ANSWER THE CALL?

The Winchester Volunteer Fire Department has served the Winchester Center community and surrounding area since it's inception in May of 1948.  Our membership has included doctors, engineers, pastors, construction workers, machinists, farmers, mechanics, electricians, managers, and many more.  In the past we have been fortunate to have a well staffed volunteer department, but unfortunately times have changed.  We, like many volunteer organizations across the nation, are feeling the effects of the dwindling numbers of volunteers.

Your Fire Department, our Fire Department, is now at a critically low level for volunteer staffing, specifically certified firefighters.  We are appealing to the residents of Winchester Center (or those even living in neighboring towns, but close to the Center) to please consider joining our organization to continue helping the community we live in.  Once you contact us, you will have the opportunity to  meet our members, tour the station, check out the trucks, ask questions, and, if you choose, complete an application for membership.

Please take the time find out what the Winchester Fire Department is all about. We are more than just people putting out fires, our members are trained to handle calls for motor vehicle accidents & extrication, downed power lines, water rescues, brush fires, hazmat situations, and much much more.  We are also a community based organization that participates in events like Winchester Center Days, local parades, food drives, and the very special Gator Parade.

If you have any questions, please email us at info@winchesterfire.org.
